FINDING BLISS

What is bliss?  Why do we seek it? When and where do we seek it?  Is it really attainable?

Bliss is defined in the Merriam-Webster dictionary as a noun as – the perfect happiness, great joy.  Additionally, it is there defined as a verb as – reach a state of perfect happiness, typically so as to be oblivious to everything else.  I must admit that I spend time seeking bliss.  How about you?  Can you admit to this too?

Why do you think we seek it?  Are we seeking euphoria?  Is it for seeking fulfillment and purpose?  For me, it is while I am doing what brings me a deep sense of joy.  Much of this is unconscious because I find myself always running from pain, frustration, disappointment, fear, and any other negativity that visits me in my day. Why do you think you seek bliss?  I would appreciate hearing from any and all of you because in sharing we all get to increase knowledge and experience. In fact, this is the reason for my blog. Moving forward…

When do we seek bliss?  For me cleaning my home and experiencing a sense of order and a germ- freer environment gives me great joy and I can momentarily replace the feelings of fatigue. Being on vacation and leaving all of the issues of everyday life also provide me with bliss.   What is this sparking in you?

Where do we seek bliss? I seek bliss in shopping for new things for self and home, in cooking a meal for friends, a haircut helps me change my old look and see a newer me. Can you help to learn other sources of finding bliss in undiscovered places and situations?

Is it ever attainable?  Of course, it is. We can find joy and happiness whenever we let ourselves experience it.  I believe true bliss is within us primarily.  We do not enable ourselves to notice the feelings or joy often.  We can tend to seek bliss outside of ourself and I believe that is why bliss tends to be short- termed and not fully appreciated.  Can you think of a person who projects bliss regularly?  What makes that person attractive to you? Why are you attracted?

Perhaps today you can find time and allow yourself to experience  your true bliss.  Enjoy your bliss.  If you find your effort unsuccessful try it again later today.  Why not share your experience with someone in your family or with a friend?

I will appreciate any feedback on this topic.  Let me know if you find this blog entry useful.  Remember, while you are finding your true joy and happiness the universe is becoming a better place. Ida

Emptying Your Stress Bucket

Worry, stress, insecurity, and any other uncomfortable feeling or emotion seem to find us.  For some the experience is more often and can even become all encompassing.  These experiences keep us feeling on edge, insecure, tired, frustrated, restless and more. As life goes on, situations get more demanding allowing us to resort to those uncomfortable feelings and emotions more often.  I believe that these feelings unconsciously get put into our stress-bucket, stay there and just keep getting buried.

Eventually the stress bucket gets heavy, full and unbearable.  We can’t seem to empty the bucket so we just keep letting it overflow to the point where we fell the stress of even breathing.  Can you identify at all with what I am saying?

I would like to offer a solution.  Are you ready?  Just decide to stop adding to your bucket and decide what level of discomfort you are willing to tolerate. Sounds easy?  Sounds unrealistic?  Sounds ridiculous?  Let’s step back a minute.

Are you aware that we do not all worry about the same things?  We do not all feel insure about the same things.  Why is that?  This has to do about how each of us is responsible for our own thoughts, feelings and emotions.  Ouch!  What about the effect of others on me?  This has to do with the power that you give to others over yourself. Yes, you can control your causes and levels of worry, stress, insecurities and any emotional discomfort you experience.

Let me know what you think.  Let’s duke this out
